As the winter season is ending, we are pleased to provide you with an update on the PEGASUS study. We are delighted to announce that we have enrolled 161 patients across 19 sites in 9 countries. Additionally, seven centers have received ethical approval, while ten centers are still awaiting approval. It is exciting to see the study continue to expand, with new sites joining from different countries.
Last week, we held a Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) meeting to review the study’s safety, recruitment rate, and protocol adherence. We are happy to report that the study will continue without any modifications to the protocol. The latest data extraction required for the DSMB meeting also provides an opportunity to offer each center personalized feedback on protocol adherence and recruitment.
The esophageal balloon substudy, led by Greet Hermans from the University Hospital in Leuven, is now ready to commence. Centers that previously expressed interest have already been contacted via email. However, if you are interested in participating in this observational substudy, please reach out to us.
If you're interested in PEGASUS or have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Jante, Marry and Lieuwe
on behalf of the PEGASUS steering committee
