Pegasus Newsletter December 2025

                                                                                                                                              Amsterdam, 02-12-2025

Dear co-investigators of the PEGASUS study,

We are excited to share some important updates on the progress of the PEGASUS study.
First and foremost, we are delighted to announce that we have now included more than 200 patients, a major milestone! This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of all our collaborators, and we sincerely thank you for your continued commitment. In addition, the pilot phase manuscript has been accepted and will be published in Intensive Care Medicine Experimental. We will inform you once the publication date is known. It is truly exciting that we can now share the first results of this collaboration.

Recently we had a meeting with the DSMB to review study safety, recruitment, and protocol adherence. We are pleased to report that the study will continue without any protocol modifications. In addition, active recruiting sites have received feedback reports on their protocol adherence. We have noticed, however, that some hospital email
systems reject HTML files. If you have included patients but did not receive a report, please contact us.

Lastly, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Elina, and I am a PhD student at the ICU in Amsterdam, with a background in biomedical technology and physics. I am currently working on automated image analysis in ARDS patients. In addition, I will be taking on a coordinating role in the PEGASUS study, as Jante will be stepping down from her coordination role next year. We are happy to share that Jante will remain involved in the study, ensuring a smooth transition and continued guidance.

Please keep us informed about your site’s progress, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. Thank you for your continued dedication to the PEGASUS study. We are excited to see the PEGASUS community continue to grow and look forward to the next milestones together.

Kind regards,
Elina, Jante, Marry and Lieuwe
on behalf of the PEGASUS steering committee
