Angelique de Man works as an intensivist at Amsterdam UMC in the Netherlands. She has extensive experience in clinical and, since she is also medical biologist, in translational research. Her domains of expertise in research comprise hyperoxia, cardiac arrest, vitamin C and micronutrients in critical care setting. She coordinated the O2-ICU and the VITaCCA trial and is coauthor of the ESPEN micronutrient guidelines. She is project coordinator of BIO-MICRO (Biomarkers and Intervention Outcomes in Micronutrient Optimization), see also BIO-MICRO - Advancing micronutrient diagnostics for personalised ICU care. The BIO-MICRO consortium, funded by a MSCA-DN grant of the EU, aims to refine the assessment of functional micronutrient status and metabolic demands in critically ill patients. These new analytical tools can facilitate personalization of micronutrient therapy across all stages of disease and recovery.
