Leonoor Boers, MD, PhD (Loenen aan de Vecht, 1994) works as a post-doctoral researcher at Amsterdam UMC and as an Internal Medicine resident (not in training) at Flevoziekenhuis, Almere. She graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Groningen in 2021 and defended her dissertation, “Dynamics of the Alveolar Host Response and Pulmonary Infections in ARDS,” at the University of Amsterdam in 2025.
Her research focuses on the alveolar host response in acute respiratory failure, including immune phenotyping and high-dimensional molecular profiling to better understand pulmonary inflammation and immune dysregulation during critical illness.
