Dr. Marry R. Smit

Dr. Marry R. Smit (Groningen, 1993) works as a post-doctoral researcher and technical physician at the intensive care unit of the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC. In 2018, she graduated from the master Technical Medicine (cum laude) at the University of Twente, specializing in Medical Imaging and Interventions. After her master studies, she started a PhD trajectory at the ICU of the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC and obtained her degree in 2022 at the University of Amsterdam. She now works as a postdoctoral researcher in lung imaging (e.g. computed tomography and ultrasound) in mechanically ventilated patients, with a specific focus on ARDS. She coordinates the PEGASUS study.
