Prof. Renaud Tissier

Renaud Tissier is Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (EnvA, France). He graduated in 1999 and received his Ph.D. in pharmacology in the “Université Paris Sud” in 2003, with an emphasis in cardiovascular in vivo pharmacology. He received numerous grants, published more than 120 peer-reviewed articles and participated to more than 100 presentations in regional, national and international meetings. Beyond teaching duties in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology, he is leading a research group dedicated to resuscitation sciences, including EnvA, the French medical research institute (Inserm) and the College of Medicine of Creteil (Institut Mondor de Recherche Biomédicale). He is investigating the effect of ultra-fast hypothermia and liquid ventilation in critical situations such as shock, cardiac arrest and severe ischemic injuries. He co-founded a company in order to translate this innovation in the clinical arena. He is also interested in ECMO strategies, post-ischemic neuroinflammation and noble gas administration. He is currently the Vice-Dean of the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort in France.
